My father was a wonderful Husband, Father and Grandfather. When my eldest James was born 16 years ago he said that he would not be spoiling him but that did not last long! He loved all four of his grandchildren and two great grandchildren and leaves a big hole in all our lives.

My childhood memories of my Uncle Bob were of him coming home on leave from the army to my Nan’s. I looked on in wonder as he ate a fish cake between two doorsteps of bread. Wherever he was posted on his travels he would send me postcards for my album. In later years we enjoyed friendly banter about rugby league, supporting different teams. His legendary sense of humour still remained and he was still in fine form when I telephoned him on his 80th birthday, the day before he died.
You’ve earned the rest, Uncle Bob, but will be sadly missed.
