In loving memory of the late Dorothy Ada "Dolly" Bangs who sadly passed away on 19th May 2015

Dolly will be sadly missed by all those who knew her. Born into a large family herself, Dolly married and went on to have her own family of two sons and six daughters, all of whom she was immensely proud. She worked hard to raised her children to be strong, caring individuals. Something she definitely succeeded in. Dolly loved nothing more than to spend time with her family. Whether that was a simple trip to the supermarket, a day trip somewhere or a huge family gathering, she lived for her family! She loved the simple pleasures of having a coffee out, inevitably she'd have tea, eating pie and mash or enjoying ice cream at the seaside. Just being with family made her happy.
Dolly was thrilled when she became a grandmother and even happier when her great grandchildren were born. She delighted in each and everyone of them. Loving and treasuring them all.
Dolly had an awesome sense of humour. She had a 'wicked' little smile and a glint in her eye whenever she shared a joke!
Dolly was a great character and leaves behind so many wonderful memories for us all. Join us in celebrating her life and sharing those treasured memories.
Dolly didn't want sadness and black. So celebrate with smiles, happiness and colour. Xx

Nan, although I know you are up above and watch over your precious family from afar, I often feel you near and at times smell you pass by, I've had times when I've thought I've seen you! Maybe I have? I look at your photo everyday and enjoy looking at 'Your corner' on my display cabinet - you will be forever in my heart Nan and it gives me comfort holding onto our memories there
Love you so much it hurts - missing you loads and longing for a Nannie cuddle to make it all right
Lots of love from Sarah xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx A kiss for every year that you were with me

Dearest Mum I have done done very difficult things in my life but this is the hardest!
Dorothy,Dolly, Dot, Mum, Nan, Nanny, Nannie Dot. Whatever name you knew her by she was ours! In particular our Mum!
Our Mum wouldn't want us to be sad, in fact some of our last conversations were of the 'one certain thing in life' and being at peace. She often said she had a wonderful life. Our Mum had a tough life. Raising 8 children in the 1950's/60's was no mean feat. She did an amazing job. Mum sacrificed so much for us, always putting us first, making sure we had what we needed. Including the abundance of unconditional love. Over the past few weeks we have been remembering Mum, nan , nanny, looking at photos, sharing memories. The one thing that stands out to me is FAMILY. The photos all show a rather beautiful lady at various ages always with her family. Whether that was her children, grandchildren or great grandchildren. Our Mum was at her happiest surrounded by her family. We all have so many memories some private ones, some we share. Like her famous Yorkshire puddings and taking turns to have the corner pieces. Her ability to produce fairy cakes and rock cakes so quickly. Letting us hang a washing line in the hallway for our dolls clothes and not minding the puddles collecting on the floor! Building dens with chairs and blankets, taking time to play with us, sitting in front of an open fire on a winters afternoon telling us stories of her younger years, 'resting' her eyes -a sneaky snooze, sharing shopping trips and giggling at her passion for buying handbags every time! The list is endless and they are all ours to keep.
If I had to choose one word for our Mum it would be proud! She was proud to have her own family of eight children. She was proud of their partner choices and loved all of her son and daughter-in-laws. She was thrilled when her grand children and great grand children arrived. She was proud of everything each one of us achieved. From the simple things of life like cutting teeth and learning to walk to getting those important first jobs and even degrees. It didn't matter what it was our Mum was so very proud. House proud she most certainly was! Her children will remember the Friday cleaning day when the whole house would be washed from top to bottom!
Our Mum was definitely a proud, wonderful lady. Today I think I speak for all of us when I say that we too are proud, so very proud to say that Dorothy, Dolly, Dot, Mum, Nan, Nanny, Nannie Dot you are OURS! We love you, goodnight, God bless, keep us all safe! Xxxxxxxxx

Dearest Mum
You had to leave us and that makes us so sad. We have all had such wonderful support from our families, friends and extended families, beautiful words have been spoken and lovely messages sent but it is love that you have given us, your babies, that is binding us together and helping us to be strong.
One message I received was the following from a friend ...Your mum would be very proud of you and although I only met her a couple of times, the amazing family she created is testament to the amazing woman she was. si true mum!
Loving and missing you so much Jackie Xxxxxxxxx
