Yesterday was a loving reminder of the strength, love and unity it means to be a member of the Pearce family. A shared day with the family and friends that loved our Uncle Barrie - a day that he would have adored - after he passed suddenly on the 15th June.

He had a zest for life, cars and his family and friends, and of course a love of nature. He had a desire to have a positive impact on everyone he met. He was the life of any party or gathering and brought a smile to everyone there. I have shared so many happy memories of the famous New Years parties of Bramber Road which was always a highlight of my year.

He was a cornerstone of the family and supported everyone in their times of need. My heart and love goes out to his wife Shirley, children Matthew, Gary, Emma, Stuart and the grandchildren and also to Auntie Barbara and Brenda. My love goes to my Uncle John who directed the funeral and my Grandfather Rev Canon Brian Pearce who gave such a fitting, loving service.

Dearest Barrie. I was so lucky to have known you. Had some terrific holidays together with Shirley, Matthew, Gary and Claire. You were such a knowledgeable, kind, caring and funny man. Will never forget how kind you were to me helping me with my caravan in the pouting rain last year. Lots of love. Sarah xx
