In loving memory of Malcolm John Clarke who sadly passed away unexpectedly on 30th April 2020

Malcolm was a great family man. He adored his 3 sons, Lewis, Ashley and Connor. As they were growing up he shared their interests, encouraged them to do their best and to make the most of life. He championed them in all they did and was their greatest supporter.

Malcolm was an intelligent, sensitive and intuitive man who had a real 'joie de vivre'. He had an amazing sense of humour and made you laugh even when the joke was on you. He loved talking to people and always seemed to find something to talk about with anyone, often making friends of strangers and making newcomers feel welcome.

Malcolm loved music, a massive punk fan in the 70s, his favourite band was the Clash. But he wasn't narrow in his choice of music and listened to and enjoyed all kinds from classical to punk to Stevie Wonder to Joni Mitchell just to name a few.

Malcolm enjoyed travelling and had visited the USA, Russia and most countries in Europe. He was an avid reader and historian. He liked learning and the pursuit of knowledge and was able to retain information in an incredible way. He was rarely wrong on his facts!

Malcolm loved football. Growing up 'he always had a football at his feet' and was a talented footballer with 'a power shot like Hasselbaink'! He supported Chelsea as a lad, then Charlton Athletic for many years and of course England!

Malcolm was articulate and quick minded, he was always true to himself and would say what was on his mind. He was of the firm opinion that you shouldn't live life on your knees shown by his fondness of the phrase: Nemo me impune lacessit. Above all, Malcolm believed in being fair and standing up for what was right - this inner kindness shone through.

Malcolm was an amazing human being and we will miss him incredibly.

Deeply saddened by the loss of Malcolm. We spent many a time in Dartford looking for vinyl in the local shops , he always had a funny story and no matter what the subject would always come up with a fascinating fact to finish on.
Our thoughts are with Lesley, Lewis , Ashley and Conner

A gentleman and a scholar.
I worked with Malcolm at Dartford for a short time and enjoyed every minute of it.
He was fun to be with, never short of a story, and even better company outside of work.
We talked about our families, and it was clear that he was SO proud of all his boys.
RIP Malcolm

You are sorely missed Malcolm - It was always such a pleasure spending an afternoon or evening chatting with you about anything and everything, you always had the most amazing anecdotes! Your indomitable spirit and love of life will carry on through Ash, Lew and Connor and I'm sure we'll get to share another drink one day :) Jack and Lucy xxx

I met Malcom early in my career at BT and we became very good friends both in work and outside. I hold fond memories of our trips to Ireland and Amsterdam for my stag party and it was an honour for me to ask Malcolm to be Groomsman at my Wedding. An intelligent, funny and kind heart man who has touched many lives and will be sorely missed. RIP Friend

What can I say about Malcolm, he was the best of company, he could take a conversation from crying with laughter to serious and fascinating in no time, quoting facts that would keep me thinking about them for days or weeks. Funny, intelligent, kind, thoughtful and so much more, rest in peace Mal the world is a little less fun without you.

Always fun times together with you and Lesley. Through our boys we had the pleasure to meet a wonderful family and enjoy many great time’s together. Remember us all waiting for the boys to jump out of that plane....the nerves took us to the pub to pass some very nervous moments......and back again when they landed. Good Bless

Malcolm was a dear friend and we will miss him terribly. He was kind, intelligent, witty and great company. He always had time for us and we especially enjoyed our trip to Bruges with him, where he displayed an extensive knowledge of military history and Belgian beers!

Malcolm was a loving family man who took great pride in the achievements of his boys. We will miss our happy get togethers with him, including his uncanny ability to finish off the Limoncello.

God Bless you Malcolm.

I will never meet or have the privilege to have such a good and close friend as Malcom. The news of Malcolm's passing was a great shock to me. I still can't believe that he has gone. I have known Malcolm for many years which I can honestly say has been a great privilege. Malcolm was a great guy, kind hearted and he could always make you laugh with a few stories, and Malcolm did like a story, he would always have an interesting fact to tell. Malcolm would always be the last man standing on our evenings out, although as the years past would struggle a bit. We certainly did enjoy our nights out especially our Christmas do's, never a dull moment then. One of the great things in knowing Malcolm was meeting his boy's during our evening work football matches, they were great times. Although at the beginning my football skills were not that great, over the years I was told by Malcolm that I did improve. I can honestly say that Malcolm can rest in peace knowing he has three great sons, who will do him proud. Lesley, who I have also come to know over the years could not have done better in finding a man like Malcolm. I will without a doubt miss Malcolm and his great personality and his friendship. May you rest in peace my good friend.
