Dawn; I am very sad to see this about David. I was one of the 18 mentioned below and actually went on our first trip as cadets with David on the Melampus in 1982.

I believe that I was an Engineer Cadet in the January 1980 intake (MD80) with David with Ocean Transport & Trading (Blue Funnel, Liverpool).
