In loving memory of Michael Anthony Gibbons who sadly passed away on 24th March 2020

Irish Blessing
May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Michael was hard working, supportive, generous and loving. He was strong like a great oak. A huge character; an anchor in the ebb and flow of our lives.

He was hilarious. Quirky. A Londoner of Irish descent and a 'Gooner' through and through.

He will be remembered as the best father and husband in the world.

The outpouring of grief since his death has been overwhelming. He loved very deeply and was loved and respected in return.

Considering the current circumstances, we will be having a memorial to celebrate Michael's life as soon as the time is right.

Thank you all for your kind words and support at this difficult time.

Kate & Catherine

Michael may be gone but he will never be forgotten. I remember the day mum brought Michael home from the hospital as if it was yesterday. He was a gorgeous baby, who never cried always smiled. He went on to become a lovely generous man, who worked extremely hard for all those he loved. Days can be difficult, especially when I’m waiting for Michael’s text to ask my prediction for the Arsenal game, I was usually wrong and he was usually right, sorry to say that remains the same. I think about Michael every day and I don’t think the sadness of his loss will ever leave me. I know that Michael found great love and happiness with his lovely wife and daughter, Kate and Catherine, it was a love that didn’t need to be talked about it it was just there. Leo, Liam and I are thinking of all who knew and loved Michael today, especially Kate and Catherine, much love to you both, Margaret xxx

Dearest Mike, don’t know where to begin, can’t believe a year since you left us. So many special memories. Generous to a fault, with a heart of gold, you made every experience richer. You left a mark dear Mike and will never be forgotten. Miss your laugh and your twinkly blue eyes - so much light and life in them, can’t believe you are gone. Thinking of Kate and Cat today especially. Love Marie xxx ❤️ ⭐️ ❤️ ⭐️

Dearest Micky so sad to hear of your passing. So kind, generous and wise. Happy memories of being at yours and the larks we got up to in our youth. The perfect day was going over to see the Arsenal play and then on to Epping for horse riding. Although we lost touch memories will always remain. The song remains the same . . . and you taught me that Identity is not wrapped up in the Barn you were born in and I have carried that with me always . . . Goodnight sweetheart.

Condolences to Kate and Catherine and much love and thoughts to Annette, Ray and Margaret.

Hard to believe this lovely energy, this force for good has gone. Met before our Lady and St Joe's - the old building - and palled around for years -in and out of each other's houses taking on and beating allcomers on those cinder pitches at London Fields - brightened every room he was in - never took too much seriously (apart from important stuff like Family and Friends and Arsenal). My mum (god rest her soul) always loved the story of Micky missing school cos floodlights weren't allowed on during some strike. This meant early kick off - he spotted by the Head on telly standing in his usual place on the Northbank. The Mulligans - Big Tom, Tom, Sean, Fionnuala, Una and Me send their condolences - sorry for your troubles. The world will miss you Micky but not as much as us.
