In loving memory of Vicky Hammond who sadly passed away on 19th March 2020, aged 84 years.
She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer about 3 months ago and spent her last couple of weeks at the Wisdom Hospice where she received amazing care and genuine kindness. As a family, we are extremely grateful to all the staff and volunteers who looked after Mum, and us, during those long, dark days and nights.
Vicky will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends. She was a very special person - genuinely kind and caring - without a mean word to say about anyone. If you are reading this and you knew Vicky - you will have had cards or letters from her. She never forgot a birthday, anniversary or other significant occasion and she always sent a thank you too!
Under the current circumstances, the funeral must be for the immediate family only - stay at home and stay safe. You are of course welcome to light a virtual candle for her here or take a few minutes to think about her on 7th April as we say goodbye.
We will have an event in the summer to celebrate her 84 wonderful years and we’d love you all to come to that.
So, just flowers from the immediate family please. But, if you would like to make a donation in lieu of flowers, please do so via this site for The Friends of The Wisdom Hospice. They really were wonderful.

We are so fortunate to have spent so much time with Vicki over the last year, visiting and helping with the garden. We all became very fond of Vicky during this time, particularly Shyama. Vicky was such a wonderful, kind and thoughtful lady we will miss her dearly and always remember our time together.

I will miss visiting with Vicky next time I am home. So kind and gentle and always thinking about others. She truly was a very special person. The last time I was with her she was concerned I wouldn’t have a decent book to read on my plane journey back to the US and insisted I take several of hers. Always caring and thoughtful, that was Vicky.

A very lovely lady, so very special in the way she always wanted to help others. The TG catering team, the family parties, the feeding of the great and the good of the County at the Scout AGMs all spring to mind. More recently our regular get-togethers were so much enjoyed. Rest in Peace dear Vicky, you will always be remembered.xx

She loved coming to the Harris Xmas jumper party’s, always sending a little thank you note saying how much they enjoyed it. You don’t realise how many hearts you touched with your kindness.
