In loving memory of John Harvey who sadly passed away on 31st December 2019, aged 69 years.

Born in West Ham, son to Eileen and Ted, brother to Colin and Keith. Grew up in East London. Shared many fond memories and stories of his childhood but many should not be repeated. A mischievous child who found direction and purpose when John met his future wife, Janet, in 1966.

John attended Brixton college for 4 years, completing an apprenticeship to become a qualified electrician.

Janet and John moved to Kent and married in June 1971. An Alsatian called 'Ace' became the first addition to the family. Purchased to keep Janet company whilst John often worked away, never shy to inform anyone and everyone how hard he worked.

John thought work was hard then came his two sons. Paul in 1977 and Gary in 1979. John was a wonderful father and husband, protecting and providing for his family throughout his entire life.

A company director, along with his wife, of JRV Electrical's for around 20 years. Hard work and long hours made the company a success, providing a comfortable life for his much loved family. John would have liked to inform you that Janet only worked on a Friday, making coffee, attempting the books and would have been sacked if not for being his wife. John made many lifelong friends during his working life.

Becoming a Grandad showed a softer side of this proud man. Four beautiful grandchildren, Sophie, Sam, Yasmin and Amira bringing further joy to his life. Chocolate brownies, sausage rolls and spaghetti bolognese will be sorely missed by all.

John retired in 2008, taking up golf and travelling the world, creating everlasting memories with his wife and friends which will be cherished forever.

John will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all that knew him.

Flowers may be sent c/o John Weir Funeral Directors, Rainham by 2:00pm on Wednesday 22nd January 2020.

Donations, if desired in memory of John for the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance may be made online via this site.

The wake will take place at Upchurch River Valley Golf Course, Oak Ln, Upchurch, Rainham, Sittingbourne ME9 7AY

Avery sad loss of a great friend and a very professional electrician. Many a great discussion with Geezer as we commonly called him with having to listen to him at least 80% of the time as you couldnt win over the discussion.
Many fantastic holidays with John and Janet and his cooking skills were out of this world. One of his many talents as well as alcohol consumption in moderation ??!!!!!!! when we were with them both.
Will and am missing him greatly.
Rest in peace Geezer. Taken too soon. Love from Neil and Veronica
