Rob remembers all the bowling tournaments we went on together and we had such a laugh talking to all the animals, never to be forgotten. Rest in peace xxx

Eileen and I have been looking at photos and remembering Ann’s visits with us in Toronto, especially the family reunion we went to in Jeddore, Nova Scotia, with our Canadian cousins. Fond memories xxx

Annie was a dear friend who brought joy to everyone she met. She will be missed but such fond memories will live forever.

Annie witch I will love and miss you forever, I have known you 30 odd yrs and you helped me through some hard times with your loving ways. I can't listen to Tina Turners 'simple the best' without thinking of your dancing 😂 Bowling was always fun with you about all those years ago, you were always laughing at things you shouldn't which made it funnier 🙈 I'm looking at this years Christmas card from you with your normal write up and can't believe I won't get another one 😢 fly high on your broomstick Annie xxx

Annie you will be missed so much. You were one of a kind that can never be replaced. I have so many happy memories of time spent with you over the last thirty years. We've laughed together on so many occasions and even cried together on others. Personally there is now a big gap in my life. Rest in peace. Love you xxx

There is going to be an Annie shaped whole in our lives now, you are missed so much already, bowling won’t be the same without your cheeky / sarcastic / lovable personality x

Annie used to babysit me and my brother Terry and change our nappies, never letting us forget by waving her little finger at us at the bowl. She also used to bowl with our Mother at Fairlanes where they met Douglas Fairbanks Jnr. She is going to be missed by us and so many others. There will never be another Annie, god bless x

Ann will be sadly missed by all in Swindon’s Tenpin Bowling community. Annie had bowled at Swindon’s original Fairlanes Bowl at Cheney Manor, which opened in August 1962, and was one of the lucky ladies to meet Fairlanes Chairman and Hollywood Film Star, Douglas Fairbanks Junior, when he visited the centre. The Cheney Manor site closed in February 1967, but when the new Superbowl (now known as Tenpin Swindon), opened at Shaw Ridge 23 years later, Ann was reunited with some of her old bowling buddies, in addition to making many new bowling friends over the subsequent years.

Oh, Nannie Annie. Life and soul of the party. Your family was so important to you & you were so loved by many people. Miss you. x

Thoughts of Ann: Cheeky greetings cards; someone who ate as slowly as I do; she gave me an excuse to have a pudding (or share one). Gonna miss her!
