On 10th November at Airedale Hospital. James aged 65 years of Winterburn formerly Lothersdale. Much loved husband of Kath, loving dad of Steven and Alison, grandad of Isabelle and Albie and son of Betty and the late Jeff.

The family have requested that NO black ties should be worn at the funeral.

It was my pleasure to work with James during the FMD outbreak in 2001. I was an American vet from Texas who he referred to as John Wayne. He truly made me feel welcome on every farm visit I made. Will never forget him, or his dogs at that time (Dan and Sally). My condolences to the family.

Amos was a friend, neighbour, a lovely man, husband, father and downright Good Guy.
He will be sorely missed by us all. He could talk the legs off a donkey but kept you engaged with his wit and knowledge.
I regret we never did more with the "Amtrev" sheep feeder
Rest in peace James. Love to Kath, Steven and Alison.

kath and family.
Such sad news to read about such a wonderful, great guy, I remember from days of old back in long preston always that man had something to laugh and joke about,
he was the spirit of the sky ,nothing was too much,
was a year ago I bumped into him at Airedale having blood test before my pre op, even then he was cracking jokes had me near enough in tears of laughter in waiting room.
hope he rests in peace,
