Last week we lost our Bry. Words cannot express how deeply we will miss such a wonderful dad, grandad and great grandad - which I think would make him laugh and agree; and it reminds us of the lyrics he would often sing "Oh lord it's hard to be humble, when you're perfect in every way..."

Bryan Harry Devonport was born on 3rd May 1936 to Rhoda and William Devonport and grew up with his two brothers, Paul and Morris. After a stint in the army, with postings in Berlin and time with the TA, Bry's bugle playing days were over when on 18th March 1961 he married Janet Deakin at St Mary's church in Bulwell. From there the two began the rest of their lives together, raising their two children Andrew and Karen and becoming Mar and Bry to their four grand children; Luke, Chantelle, Stacey and Natasha and two great grandchildren, Jay and Ellie. Always up at the crack of dawn, fighting fit and ready to go, whether it was off somewhere in the car, a holiday abroad or running errands, the kids where at the heart of Bry and Mar.

We would be delighted for family and friends to join us at the place close to both Bryan and Janets hearts, St Mary's church on Monday 11th November. Service starts at 12:30pm where we plan to send him off, as he would have wanted, in style and with love, remembrance and joy!

Very sad to hear of your passing. Was a pleasure to have known you if only for a few months and to listen to your life stories and enjoy a brew with you. Bex Thorley
