In loving memory of a wonderful Mum, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Sister, Auntie and Friend. Barbara, who sadly passed away at home on Saturday 7th September 2019, was very much loved and treasured by all and will be greatly missed by family and friends. Barbara, nee Cotton, originally from South Normanton moved to Blackwell when she married William (Bill) James and started their family before moving to Newton where she has lived for the last 50 years. Barbara worked for many years as a sewing machinist and since her retirement she has enjoyed much quality time with her family and is well-known for walking miles and miles with her beloved dog Emmy.
Barbara fought her illness fiercely with determination and courage and found so much strength in the support from her loved ones, from the team at NGS Macmillan Unit Chesterfield and the Palliative team from Ashgate Hospice.
Barbara's funeral will be held at Mansfield Crematorium on Friday 20th September 2019 at 11:15 and she wishes for donations to be made to Macmillan and Ashgate Hospice rather than floral tributes. All are welcome to join family at Newton Community Centre after the service to celebrate Barbara's life.

Today you would have lost a best friend / sister ... but instead you gained your favourite sister. I would say rest in peace but screw that... party hard up there ladies !!!! Sheila obviously didnt want to miss another birthday of yours granny. I would ask for a visit but not a chance now. I can imagine the mischief you to will get up to up there. We miss you.
