In ever loving memory of Sharon Garlick who peacefully passed away on 14th May 2019 after just having celebrated her 61st birthday.

Sharon was born in Greenwich, London on 4th May 1958, the youngest of eight children to her mum and dad, Nellie ‘Nen’ and Walter ‘Mick’ Tickner. Her family moved to Wigmore when she was 10 years old for a better life away from London.

Ray met Sharon through his friendship with her brother Dave whilst they were working for Post Office Telephones. An immediate attraction grew into a desire to always be together, and Sharon and Ray were married on 23rd April 1977 at Bredhurst Church.

Sharon and Ray cherished 42 gloriously happy years devoted to each other in a loving marriage. Sharon was a wonderful mother to our three sons, Neil, Paul and Lee whom she raised within a family full of love. She delighted in seeing our sons confidently making their own way in the world and seeing them happily married to Odalyse, Jes and Maria. More recently, Sharon was blessed with two delightful granddaughters, Liliana and Eleanor, who gave her immense joy, and who she utterly adored, cherished and doted upon.

Sharon always enjoyed family life and the happiness and well-being of her family was the most important thing to her. She loved family holidays, gardening, sewing and more recently photography. Sharon had various jobs throughout the years whilst raising our family, all borne out of her interests. These included clerical work, child minding, floristry, school classroom assistant and then working at Medway Council, as a transport manager for people with physical and learning disabilities.

Sharon was a priceless gift to us all. The unbounded heartache of losing her is tempered only by the knowledge that our memories and love for her, and her love for us, will endure forever.
xxxx

Sharon's favourite colour was dusky pink. The family have asked if anyone who will be attending the service would wear if possible something in pink in her honour on the day.

After the service the family warmly invite you to join them for light refreshments and to continue to share memories of Sharon at The Bridgewood Manor Hotel, Nr Bluebell Hill, Walderslade Woods, Chatham, Kent, ME5 9AX.

Floral tributes may be sent by 8.30 am on Friday 14th June 2019, c/o John Weir Funeral Directors, 130-132 High Street, Rainham, Kent, ME8 8AR. Telephone No: 01634 373111 or if desired donations in memory of Sharon may also be made for Cancer Research UK or The Wisdom Hospice via this website.
