Just wanted to share a memory of Pete. When he was 10 years old ,he was asked to be a page boy, he being a boy who loved being out side playing footie was not impressed. Finally mum got him to agree but did not tell him he would have to wear a white satin shirt and trousers !!! Putting Pete all in white and keeping him clean until the photos proved quite a challenge ! Mum was so pleased that he looked great in the photos , and then we had a tomato soup starter ! Even at that young age he was wearing the red and white of his beloved Manchester United. Pete was a good man ,I will miss him.

Back in 1989 we (Trisha, Maggie & Alex) moved to Cape Cod on the east coast of America.
In December 1990 mum and Pete came to visit us, neither had ever been on a long haul flight before (May have even been petes first flight?) anyway we endeavoured to try to show them as much of USA as possible while they were with us-we took them to Boston, New York and they enjoyed all the tourist sites we all know and love.
Pete loved USA which surprised us all as he wasn’t one that liked different things much - he professed that he had the best ‘burger’ he’d ever had in his life there..! But the thing that became synonymous with Pete and our family was the time we were in a large American supermarket and while walking around the hi-fi/tv dept Pete piped up “ Wow! These radios are so cheap, wish I could buy one to take home but they wouldn’t work in England as they would only get USA channels” 😂😂
Poor Pete....never lived that one down, never stopped teasing him about that gaff...!
