Dorothy sadly passed on 8th December at Wray Common Nursing and Residential Home Dorothy Joan Keenor, for many years Head of the Maths and Physics Department at Ashcombe School, Dorking. Much loved sister of Marjorie, Beryl and Christina. Dearly loved and respected Aunt, Great Aunt and Great-Great Aunt to her twenty nieces and nephews. Her kindness, generosity and courage will be greatly missed by all. A short service to celebrate her life will take place at the Surrey and Sussex Crematorium at 10.15 am on 7th January 2019. All are welcome to join the family for refreshments at The Redhill and Reigate Golf Club.
Family flowers only but donations to Cancer Research would be greatly appreciated at the service, sent c/o Stoneman Funeral Service or via this website
Miss Keenor was a great teacher, showing patience, wit and humour. I particularly relish the memory of finding a marking sheet signed by her decades before when helping dismantle the teacher's desk in an old classroom and her comment about retirement. I understand she continued teaching for many years after.
Dorothy was a kind, thoughtful and intelligent woman. A pleaseure to work with.

Dorothy`s family would like to thank everyone for their messages of support during this difficult time. We are especially grateful to everyone who came to Dorothy`s funeral and shared their memories of Dorothy at the Crematorium and at the Golf Club. We know that Dorothy would very much have appreciated the wonderful turn out!
