In loving memory of the late Ruth Gill who sadly passed away on 8th January 2015.

Ruth Gill was the most loving mum, aunt, grandma, great-grandma, great great-grandma and friend who touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

Her incredible generosity, warmth, friendliness, understanding and sense of humour made her unique. We are all blessed to have known such a special lady and she leaves a remarkable legacy of a fortunate family across the world.

She will forever be in our thoughts and lives and the memories of the special times we shared mean she will never be forgotten.

We are so glad that Grandma had such a full and enjoyable life. I enjoyed all your visits to Australia and I am glad you were able to meet all our children. I remember how strong you were especially remember when you fell of the horse in one of your Australian visits and ended up in hospital but you didn't let it ruin your stay and you got better and continued to enjoy your visit. We remember Grandma as gentle kind soul especially your loving cuddles of all our children. You will be missed and you will live on in our hearts forever.

  • How nice Corey, such beautiful words you wrote. Even though you didn't see great Grandma much, she was always asking how you were and what you were doing, so that made Great Grandma feel a lot closer to you. Xx

The memories of my Great Grandmother will always live on. I will always remember the countless amounts of letters and birthday cards and Christmas cards we would share. I will always remember the excitement I felt when I saw those airmail stickers on an envelope addressed to me. Sitting at grandma's table writing our reply and so careful placing stickers.... All over the cards. And the moments when we were at Grandma's at the right time to talk to Great Grandma on the phone. It's amazing the bond you can share with a beautiful someone from the other side of the world. I'm sure I also speak for my sister as well (Holly Else). We love you Great Grandma... <3
My love to all family and friends who's lives have been touched by our beautiful Ruth xx

When I was a child Ruth Gill (as I knew her Mrs Gooding ) was my best friend Paula's mother.
She was always kind and understanding and always asked me to stay for tea and let me stay over.
She was always a very modern mother even in the 60's
I have very fond memories of her and will never forget her,
God bless
