Shaun and I will be there today to pay our respects to our neighbour Larry. My memories of you popping out the front door to speak to me and to ask how my Mum was and later on when you became too poorly to tap on the window for me to come in for a chat. Early memories are when we moved in as new neighbours you leant us your ladders and your lawnmower. A very generous helpful neighbour, friend and geninue family man. RIP Larry. Now forever reunited with your one love Lil. Xx

Many many best wishes and condolences.

So very sad and shocked to hear passing of both your dear parents. Have quit fond 'photograhic' memories of them when we were all so very close friends 1972-76 until most sadly you moved away, and we lost contact. Just arrived home from USA, where have had job working for US Congressman. My parents, who you will remember, have now both passed away: my father, of that dreadful 'C' of the Pancreas aged 67 on March 21 1988; and, most recently my mother, of pneumonia on May 5 last year aged 86. In fact, I also developed the big 'C' shortly after my father. This was Hodgkin's Lymphona, and was quite advanced and a most ghastly experience, but somehow, thankfully, got through it, and, so far, remain in good health . I had just started politics/history degree course in London, but had to abandon it, and set me back many years, physically and mentally. But recommenced 12 years ago, this time at Greenwich Uni, London, similar course, and 2:1 pass.
Well, finally, you have allways remained in my thoughts all these years; never ever forgotten you and your very kind, lovely parents. May they both rest in the peace they both thoroughly deserve.
Nice to hear a bit from you. such agreat time wasn't it 1972-6!!!

On behalf of Marjorie and her family - thank you Uncle Laurie for being such a good friend and brother. We know that Marjorie loved hearing from you as we know you did from her. It is so sad that we have lost Marjorie and now our dearest Uncle Laurie.

To have known such a caring, knowledgeable, generous and stubborn man, I feel lucky to have known you and to call you Gramp.
You became a fighter and a very cheeky man who always had such fascinating memories to share, we will miss you ever so much.
Sunday’s for us became a day we’d come to visit you, Louis loved playing with the pennies and the coasters on that little table. Jim would be out in the garden mowing the lawn or sorting the fish out and we would be chatting away about anything and everything!
Coming over to help you make the curry when you were able to, we never did get the recipe from you and you’d blame the cat or Louis when you popped. Was always overused by you, even when the cat wasn’t in the house it was still him.

Thankyou for all the stories, your ideas and help to us all and for just being our lovely Gramp, We miss you!

Uncle Laurie, when we spoke you were always so kind with such a lovely soft accent and a mischievous sense of humour. We will miss you and always regret not knowing you so much more and for a lot, lot longer. With lots of love and sadness.

Larry was a lovely man. He was a neighbour with his wife lil and then children Lorraine and Chris. We have known them for 40years.He was always having a joke and laugh when you saw him. He will be sorely missed by everyone. X

You may not have been in my life very long but it felt like you'd been there forever. Such a loving gramp (even if you were extremely stubborn!) Thank you for all the stories and memories you shared with us over the years. Missing our weekly visits to see you already. I hope you're resting peacefully and continue to do so, always in my heart!
