In loving memory of Ted Spice who sadly passed away on 11th December 2017
My Dad was born in 1958 to Peggy and Ted, My dad had two younger brothers John and Paul. They grew up in Swindon and shared lots of fun times together and enjoyed child hood.
The three boys were known as the spice brothers and were very close.
My dad met my mum Maria in 1987 and it was love at first sight my brother Lee was 8 years old and he brought Lee up as his own son. I his daughter claire was born in 1988 and my mum and dad also married in this year.
I had a great child hood full of fantastic memories holidays great days out as a family.
My dad worked at BMW for about 30 years he enjoyed the job and used to do very long days he worked very hard to provide for his family.
As the years went on his step grandson was born in 2002 Ciaran.
And my children was born in 2013 and 2015 he loved spending time with his grandchildren and spoiling them.
In June 2016 he went on holiday to Corfu and starting feeling unwell with pains in his back and stomach after 5 visit to GP he finally got referred to the hospital in November 2016 was the worse day of our lives when my they found a tumour in the bowel.
It was the first time I ever saw my dad cry and me and my mum held his hand and said we are gonna get through this. As anyone would be he was scared of death, but he was so strong he continued to fight chemotherapy sessions even when we had results that the cancer had spread to stomach and liver and lung he continued to fight.
Even when he was admitted to hospital from ulceration in the mouth and infection from the chemotherapy Christmas December 2016 the consultant asked if he wanted to stop chemotherapy he said no and carried on fighting!
He done so much research into cancer fighting foods and tried his best to try foods to kill the cancer.
His granddaughter is due January 2018 and was very excited to meet her buying stickers to decorate her room and her first dolly. He was also very excited for Christmas 2017 he decorated the tree wrapped the presents and even got the Christmas food in. But unfortunately on 9th December a pain started in his stomach and was admitted to hospital. The tumour had grown so big in the bowel had blocked. The surgeons said they was nothing they could do the cancer spread to far. My dad passed away on December 11th 2017. It was the hardest day of all of our lives as he didn’t want to go. But he passed peacefully and had a burial on 20th December 2017. Please let’s help Raise money to cancer research to beat cancer!
