I knew John when I worked at The Tower of London and he was a valued member of my team for over 20 years; it was with great shock and sadness that I learnt of his sudden death and I know that he will be sadly missed.

I've known John for 5 years and he always encouraged me to apply for a job at HRP. I had a lot of respect for John and am so grateful i got to work with him for the last 6 months, it was an honour and privilege to work with him. He had such a lovely sense of humour, always smiling and so easy to get on with. I am really going to miss him.

John, it was a pleasure knowing and working with you. I miss seeing you walking through the Tower with your umbrella, your cheeky smile and sense of humour. Your corner of the mess room doesn't look the same, it seems empty without you. May you rest in peace.

Dearest John, we miss you so much the place wont be the same without you. I'll never forget when I started going out with Graham, you came as part of the package, and I am so glad that you did. We had some great times, listening to the Rat Pack and Matt Monro, talking about the Krays and Mafioso. You were a true friend and gentleman and we love and miss you so much it hurts.

The sudden loss of John proves that life is so fragile and we may not understand why things happen the way they do. I am comforted in knowing that John is no longer suffering and is now at peace.
I hadn't known John for very long, but found that he had a wicked sense of humour and a certain twinkle in his eye.
He will be missed by all his friends and colleagues here at The Tower of London
