In loving memory of our mother, Edna Miller, who sadly passed away on 17 September 2016.
Mum was born and raised in Greenock, Scotland and despite spending much of her later life overseas she remained a proud Scot. She married our father, Vic, in 1951 and soon after joined him in Hong Kong during his service with the Royal Navy. Subsequent overseas postings during Dad's service with the Foreign & Commonwealth Office gave them both a very interesting and varied life in Singapore, New Delhi, Algiers, Bangkok, Maseru, Budapest, Tripoli & Istanbul.
In retirement, Edna had a passion for her pet poodles and was often often seen walking out with them in the local parks. Sadly, later in life Edna suffered from dementia and, in lieu of flowers at her funeral, we are raising funds for the Alzheimer's Society charity. Mum will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

A salute to both Edna and Vic who trod the diplomatic path before ourselves and many other ex-FCO friends. They 'boldly went' and put up with many hardships and adversaries largely unknown to the general public in the United Kingdom.
Though I never met David's mother, I wanted to say thank you to her and all her generation did for us.
