Poem by Barbara Yule
'I love you'

I wonder why we never say
The things we feel for those we love?
Is it because we fear they'll scoff,
And thinking this we put it off?
I'll put aside this idle notion-
And let you know of my emotion.
How much you're loved, how much I care,
How much you're in my every prayer.
I've wept at all your sorrows,
I've felt your every pain
I've laughed at all your joys
And been lifted up again.
I've always been so proud, of what you have achieved,
But it came as no surprise, I always have believed
That when your ambitions were put to the test
You would most surely give your best.
Don't ever forget that I love you,
Don't ever forget that I care,
For by putting my thoughts here before you
I hope I have made you aware.

I love you dad....rest in peace now your days are done. XXXX

Dad. There are no words to express my sense of loss for someone who not only was it a privilege to call my father, that guided me through life and taught me right from wrong, good from evil, empathy and sympathy and the best booze from the worst booze, but also to someone that I regarded as a true friend. You were always there to support me in whatever I did or tried to do and offered guidance and sound advice. Often others referred to us as more like brothers than father and son and we both knew exactly what they meant about the unbreakable bond between us. Thank you for being my guiding light for all these years, an inspiration and a real friend but most of all...for just being DAD.A real gentleman, loved and respected by more than you would have ever known. God bless, rest in Mum's loving arms, until we meet again.xx

I am very sad that my granddad has passed away recently, however, I take comfort in knowing he lived an amazing life and did what he truly wanted to do; while at the same time being not only a loving family man but a kind and generous human being, someone that we can all learn from. I had some great times with my granddad during my childhood and in my adult life and I have many fond memories which I will cherish for years to come. I feel very lucky and honoured to have known my Grandadad and he will be missed very much, not only me, but many others whose lives he touched. RIP Pap, you really were a true gentleman and did it your way! Until we meet again, love your grandson, Scott.
