In loving memory of Sheila Dorey who sadly passed away on 6th October 2026

Sheila, or Mum as I knew her was born in February 1947 to dad Percy and mum Phyllis - she was born near Sidlow where she then went on to live with both her parents.

She attended school in Woodhatch and i'm reliably told enjoyed playing Netball with her favourite subject being Maths..

Mum spent time on the milk round with her dad Percy and met many friends through this before becoming an administrator at a consulting actuaries, Watson Wyatt in Reigate Surrey.

Mum met Dad (Clive) and after some time they married and moved to live in Brockham with Ida (dad's mum or Gran as I'll call her)

Mum enjoyed many hobbies including Knitting, Gardening, Jigsaws however her biggest hobby was playing the old card game of Whist which she continued to do until the end.

In 1979, along I came (Alan) to join the clan and we have remained in Brockham until now together in the same house since the passing of Dad in 1991.

Mum then became a Nursery School assistant on Brockham Green where she remained until she retired even then returning to make the crew a cup of coffee when needed along with seeing the children which she very much enjoyed.

We enjoyed many a happy time including trips to Garden centres for lunch and National Trust properties along with the Whist but by far the biggest shared passion was theatre with us visiting 100+ shows over many years..

Sadly that time must come to an end, however I can honestly say we wouldnt have changed anything other than perhaps a few more theatre trips to top up the 100!

Mum will be sadly missed but never forgotten..

I worked with Sheika fir nant years at Brockham Green Nursery. She was always so bubbly, nothing seemed to faze her. She loved the children and they loved her too. She was always ready for a chat sad a catchup whenever I saw her in the village.
