BATES MAUREEN Died 6th October 2026 late of 99 Twaddell Avenue. Beloved wife of Edward, much loved mother of Edward, Darren and Arlene, loving mother-in-law of Kelly and Ryan and devoted grandmother of Taylor, Reece, Katlyn, Curtis, Elsa, Apollo and Phoenix. Funeral service to be held from her home (address above) on Tuesday 13th at 1.45pm and afterwards to Roselawn Crematorium for 3.20pm. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu if desired to Friends of the Cancer Centre c/o Stephen McCosh Funeral Directors, 117-121 Shankill Road, Belfast, BT13 1FD. Will be sadly missed by her loving family circle. To have you as our mother was cause enough for pride, no-one could be your equal however hard they tried. We lost a mum in a million, we loved her to the end ,we lost two precious things that day, our mum and our best friend.

Today is my last time seeing you beautiful face. My heart aches to have more time with you. You always said to me god give you a daughter for a reason that i was your guardian angel. Now your mine. You said i was your rock and strength but i was only that cause i had you. I will be back in your arms 1 day for one of your amazing hugs that felt like they lasted forever.Night night god bless i love you mummy

It’s so hard to put into words just how much you mean to me, and it completely breaks my heart to know I won’t get to feel the warmth of your hugs anymore, or just pop in to say a quick hello. I know whenever I need you that you will be sending me signs or watching over us, because if anyone was made to light up the night sky in heaven, it’s you. With all your flashing hats, glowing ties, and light-up glasses, there’s no doubt you’ll be the brightest, most joyful star in the sky, watching over every single one of us.
Nite nite, God bless, love you xxx
