I first knew Eric in 1979 when he became my boss at MG Rubber, he then became a friend and team partner playing darts and skittles at the Earl of Chesterfield in Shelford, a few years later he became my landlord when he took over the Staunton arms and we had many nights putting the world right. 20 years later we became friendly business competitors when we both bought manufacturing businesses on the Isle of Sheppy making hi vis clothing. We also had a shared interest in classic cars and often met at the local car shows Almost 50 years has gone in a flash, goodbye Eric mate
