Celebrating the Life of Barbie Wimbury
Please join us on Friday 16th October 2026 as we come together to remember Barbie and celebrate the wonderful life she lived.

The Service
The service will be held at 1:15pm at Leatherhead Crematorium, Randalls Road, Leatherhead, Surrey, KT22 0AG. There is plenty of parking on site, and the nearest train station is Leatherhead.

Afterwards
Please join us afterwards at The Watermill, Reigate Road, Dorking, RH4 1NN, where we'll share stories and celebrate Barbie together. The nearest stations are Dorking and Dorking Deepdene.

Getting There
There's plenty of parking at the crematorium, but parking at The Watermill is limited, so we'd be grateful if you could share cars wherever possible. There are lay-bys close to the pub, and a car park in town (Reigate Road Car Park, next to the leisure centre) that's a short walk away. If you need a taxi, we'd recommend booking one in advance, as Uber can be unreliable in the area.

What to Wear
Knowing Barbie as we do, she wouldn't want everyone in black, so please wear colour if you can.

Donations
You're very welcome to bring a card on the day, and there will be somewhere to leave this at The Watermill. Rather than flowers, we would kindly ask you to make a donation in Barbie's memory to one of two charities: Wildlife Aid Foundation or Cats Protection. Both do wonderful work caring for animals, something close to Barbie's heart. If you're able to give, please add the reference "In memory of Barbie" so we can see everything raised in her name.

Thank you for your kind words and support. Barbie would be so touched to have you all there celebrating her life.

Lots of love,

Glen, George and Sophie (and Bea, Steve and Laia) x

I worked with Barbie in the Training dept of HMPO. I loved my time there & Barbie was a big part of that.It was a joy to come to work in a happy, caring & welcoming environment. Barbie looked after each one of us individually. I missed her and the team she built when Mark and I left for Wales. But I carried with me what a happy work environment should be like. Thank you Barbie. May you rest in peace. Condolences to Glen, George and Sophie. Thinking of you all at this very sad abd heartbreaking time Michelle, Mark, Taliesin, Oisin and Ruarí - Abergavenny. So much love for Barbie is shared in the comments on this site. Only someone so special could bring so many tears to our eyes. I have known Barbie since I began working with her in 1996 and in all those years she never changed. She humbly shared her great knowledge, offered huge support, loved and encouraged. She never had a bad word to say about anybody. She was simply lovely, an amazing example of humanity to us all. She set the bar high for us to follow, we didn't know it, but she was sowing seeds to challenge us all in our lives, which our tears have since watered. We will never be the same again. Thank you Barbie.
Sincere condolences to the family especially Glen, George and Sophie. I am so sorry for your shock and your loss and I will hold you in prayer:
'Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever' Psalm 23.
Much love and every blessing to you all, Wendy XXX

Barbie, everyone who knew you has echoed the same sentiments. Kind, caring, knowledgeable hardworking , didn’t get involved remained neutral in any drama and saw the positives in any situation etc, etc. That smile, your smile lit up a room . Your greeting on many occasions was in the form of a touch on the back or rub on the shoulder you would then smile and say either “hi sweetie, hi lovely” These are all the things I will remember you for.. Oh yes & back in the day your penchant for shoes. We would compliment each other on our footwear. “Ooohh I like your shoes where did you get those from?”we would ask each other😄 We both liked shoes with a difference.

Friday 16/10 /2026 was a bitter sweet day but I & I’m sure everyone who attended your funeral will hold that memory in their hearts forever because your Eulogy summed you up perfectly & the song choices brought it to life. Glen, Georgie, Sophie & the rest of the family, Barbie’s spirit remains with you, she will continue to look out for you.all & will never be forgotten by us. A light like hers can never be extinguished RIP ❤️

For Barbie. A loyal and friendly neighbour. A great advocate for the Terrace. You will be missed by all that know and love you, that includes all the cats, dogs and wildlife that you were so fond of.

Our thoughts are with Glen, Sophie and Georgie as they navigate like without you. Your legacy lives on through them.
They did you so proud celebrating you and your beautiful family.
Shine bright like the star you are.
Sarah, Andrew, Cam, Jack and Noshi the dog. X x
