Claire Michelle Boam (nee Wildsmith) (11 Feb 1972 - 6 Sep 2026)

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Claire. Claire passed away peacefully at St Giles Hospice surrounded by her loving family on 6th September 2026, aged 54 years, after a long brave fight. Dearly loved wife and soulmate to Adrian (Bud), treasured mum of Jessica and Harrison. Loving mother in law to James, wonderful daughter of Carol and Geoff, much loved sister of Paul, and sister in law to Nicci, Alison and Mark. Also a much loved auntie, niece and cousin. Claire will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Claire worked in the NHS as a nurse, she always loved her job. Claire's career began at Glenfield Hospital on the Thoracic Surgery Ward, later moving to Sue Ryder Hospice where she became a ward sister, but with its closure, Claire moved onto district nursing in the South Derbyshire area. Once the children had grown up, Claire became a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Palliative Care at Queen's Hospital Burton, where she cared for her patients with so much love. When this cruel disease came, it left her with no choice but to leave her career.
Better fly high our beautiful angel, free from pain, we will love you forever.
