In loving memory of David Clegg 'DC' Leese, a formidable character and well known by many, who passed away on 28th August 2026, peacefully, after a long illness. Twice Mayor of East Staffordshire Borough Council, DC was a character larger than life. He worshipped his wife Liz, who sadly passed away 10 years ago, and with his loyal cat Gretton, missed her terribly, carving out a different life from then on. Loved by his closest friends, he will be very much missed. Join us on Thursday, 1st October at St Modwen's Church at 10.15am to celebrate a wonderful man.

Where do you start, a larger than life charictor, know by many, whos personality filled a room, when he entered. Will be sadly missed by all, especially the brewery's as he promoted his beloved Bass, far and wide. Even across the water when visiting friends. He enjoyed his cruising and always managed to charm some unexpecting sales rep when booking, to get the best deal. He always had his late wife Liz in his thoughts till the end.
DC was a huge character in my life for the last few years. I miss him so much. The sales of Bass went down a lot from last November but that pint was always on his mind. Be assured that his treasured cat Gretton is safe with us.
