Georgina Noreen Goody (17 May 1982 - 6 Sep 2026)

I’m so sad to hear about George. Even though I worked with her over 10 years ago, I’ve never forgotten her or the difference she made to my life.

I honestly owe so much of my career to her. She noticed me, believed in me and gave me opportunities that helped shape where I am today. She was strict, but always fair, and genuinely the best manager I’ve ever worked with.

I don’t think she ever knew just how much of an impact she had on me, but I’ll always be grateful to her.

Rest in peace, George. You’ll be truly missed ❤️

When I think of you, GG, I can’t help but smile — because even in the most difficult of moments, you always had a way of making people laugh.

I remember the day you pulled your team into an office, raised your voice and sternly asked, “Who wants to be here?” At the time, we probably didn’t realise that those words would one day become part of one of my favourite memories of you.

A few months after your diagnosis, we were chatting as we so often did — sometimes over Zoom, sometimes in the office, and sometimes simply by text. In true GG style, you said to me, “Wouldn’t it be funny, Huckett, if at my funeral you stood up and said…”

Yep. You got it.

“Hands up who wants to be here!”

That was you. Your sense of humour, your sass, your ability to find laughter even when life was throwing the hardest things at you. And, of course, there was your other favourite saying: “Jesus, I have a life to be living.” You certainly did — and you lived it in your own unforgettable way.

I’m so sorry I only got to know you for around six years, because those six years were truly precious. Somewhere along the way, my manager became my friend, and I will always be grateful for that.

I’ll miss our chats, our laughs and, of course, our shared love of EastEnders. We could discuss what had happened the night before as though it were the most important business in the world. And God forbid anyone sent a text between 7:00 and 7:30pm, Monday to Thursday — that was sacred EastEnders time!

You were so much more than a manager to me. You were someone I could talk to, laugh with, and share the everyday ups and downs of life with. You became a friend, and that is how I will always remember you.

It simply won’t be the same without you.

So, GG, wherever you are, I hope you know just how loved, cherished and remembered you are. You left your mark on so many people, and you certainly left one on me.

My gorgeous, sassy GG — thank you for the memories, the laughter, the conversations, the EastEnders debates and, most of all, for being you.

You will always have a very special place in my heart.

And yes… hands up who wants to be here?

Georgina, or Goody to me. I can hear you now … ‘Dawson’ … and my response ‘Goody’. Names we continued to call each other in all our contact these past few months.

I was lucky enough to work with you in our FH&S ‘Hubbard’ gang, and then even luckier when you joined us in SST.

Fun times. Friendship and teamwork. In your time with SST, you supported our customers when they needed us the most. A job (so you told me 😊) you really enjoyed and your passion for supporting customers, even for the too short a time you were with us, shone through.

I'm not sure where to start! You've been a constant part of my working life for the last 15 years. Working at the bank without you just won't be the same.

I have so many fond memories: sneaky fag breaks right before a meeting, being late to meetings because we'd been gossiping too much on the way - Rodd giving us that wave. The infamous "throw you under a bus" card, your weekly Tesco lasagne and chicken kiev dinners, and delivering your work items through a tiny window at the start of COVID.

I'll always remember attending meetings via Zoom and not being able to look at you because you'd make me laugh. And, of course, you passing your driving test and attending your wedding! You looked beautiful (like most days at work, after worrying about your hair being fuzzy)!! ⭐

You'll be greatly missed. You're one of the strongest people I know, and I know you'll already be up in heaven causing mischief.

Georgina was my first manager when I officially joined the bank in 2011. I was just 18 years old, starting my first real job, and to be honest, I remember being quite nervous of her at first. She had a stern look and high standards, but it didn't take long to realise there was a much softer side behind that.

Within my first few weeks at the bank, Georgina called me into an office and told me I was in trouble for allegedly taking a photo at my desk. As I was still on probation, she explained that my job could be at risk, it was a very daunting experience for an 18-year-old who wanted to make a good impression.

Georgina was strict, but she was fair. She pushed me to meet the standards expected of me and made sure I remained focused on doing the right things. Over the years, it became a running joke between us that she had nearly had me sacked within my first month at the bank. Looking back now, it is one of those memories that always made us both smile.

What I valued most was the lesson she taught me. She cared about doing things properly and about helping people develop, and those are qualities that stayed with me throughout my career. I genuinely enjoyed working with her and learned a great deal during my time in her team.


I was also fortunate enough to see some of the happiest moments in her life, including attending her wedding to Carl, and sharing many team outings and celebrations over the years. Although I moved teams in 2018 and never had the opportunity to work with Georgina again, I was always pleased to see how happy she was.

I am deeply saddened by her passing. My thoughts are with Carl, her family, friends, and everyone whose lives she touched. Georgina played an important part in the start of my career and leaves behind many memories that I will always be grateful for.

Rest in peace, Georgina. You will be greatly missed. ❤️

I had the privilege of working with Georgina at the bank, where we managed a team together. We were very close during those years and had so much in common, particularly in the way we cared about and supported the people we worked with.
I have thought about George many times over the years and will always remember her warmth, kindness, friendship and the lovely memories we shared. She was someone who made a real impression on me and will never be forgotten.
I also remember how often and lovingly she spoke about her family in Ireland. It was always so clear how much they meant to her and how incredibly close you all were.
I am so very sorry for your loss. My heartfelt condolences go to Carl and all of George’s family and friends at this incredibly sad time. She was a very special person and it was a privilege to have known her.
Rest peacefully, George. You will be missed and remembered with great affection. ❤️

GG I don’t know where to start. Sometimes people are in our lives only fleetingly, but they leave a lasting impact on us forever. We may have only known each other a short time but you were such a generous, kind and funny person. Even though you had so much going on, you still reached out to me when I had surgery and continued to be a beautiful, supportive friend; I am very grateful to have met you even if it wasn’t for very long . One of your last messages to me says ‘go and enjoy life while you can,’ I will make sure to do exactly that. (Your last last message is not appropriate for here & I’ll get told off!) love you forever, beautiful beautiful lady xx
