In loving memory of Jennifer Denise Stolworthy, who sadly passed away after a long battle with cancer on 7th September 2026.

Jenny was born in Dagenham on 13th July 1948 to Tom and Joan Holland. She spent her early years there before the family moved to Basildon, where she grew up. From a young age, Jenny had a real love of horses and spent much of her spare time riding and looking after them.

After leaving school, Jenny began working in accounts in London. She enjoyed her working life and had a varied career, taking on different roles along the way before eventually retiring as a Financial Controller.

As Jenny’s life took her from Basildon, Essex to Birchington, Swanley, Leybourne, Allington and eventually Lympne, Kent, she made friends wherever she went. She was a sociable person who enjoyed being around those close to her, whether on holiday, out for the day or simply getting together for a good laugh. Some of those friendships lasted for many years and remained an important part of her life.

It was through one of these friendships that Jenny met Terry, and they quickly fell in love. They married on 28th September 1968 at Holy Cross Church, Basildon and went on to share 57+ years of married life together. Over those years, they travelled, enjoyed many adventures and built a loving family life. Terry was a constant part of Jenny’s life, always by each other’s side.

Jenny was a much-loved mum to Andrew and Ruth. She was caring and devoted, and always there for her family. She was fiercely loyal and protective of those she loved, but always fair and willing to listen. She loved watching her children grow and was always proud of them.

Family was incredibly important to Jenny, and becoming a Nan to Ben, Tate, Oliver and Jessica brought her so much joy. She enjoyed taking them on adventures and showing them new places, and treasured the time she spent with them.

Jenny will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and sense of humour, as well as her strong character and the way she cared for those around her. She loved being with people, had a real sense of adventure and enjoyed life.

Throughout her illness, Jenny showed incredible bravery and determination. She remained positive, rarely complained and continued to find enjoyment in each day. She fought right to the end with the same strength and spirit that had always been part of who she was.

She will be greatly missed and always remembered with love.
