Dearest Dottie took me under her wing when i started getting the Kings Ferry in 1987. Newly married, in a new area, she showed me nothing but kindness and made sure i became part of the fun crew. Always busy on the coach, knitting and then cross-stitching (which she continued on a daily basis right up to recent times), partaking in the Friday night coach party and of course providing advise and counsel to all.
Throughout the next 40 years, we have been through so many times together, laughing, supporting, crying and loving, introducing respective friends and families into each others lives. After retirement, Dottie continued to enrich my live, inviting me (and then later, my mum) to join her and her work bestie, Natalie, when they met up, as she knew that we would also hit it off and become dear friends. It became the Ladies that Lunch club, which will never be the same again, but i promise that we will always raise our glasses to our dear friend, Dottie.

I have so many fond and funny memories of Dottie, and thank her and her favourite person, Tel, from the bottom of my heart for being there and for the experiences and memories made on trips away. Love and miss you, my friend, Dottie.

In loving memory of Dottie

I first met Dot when she joined our London office as a temp, and before long she became a permanent and very valued member of the team. She was a wonderful legal secretary, but to me she was so much more than that.

Dottie was warm, welcoming and always such good company. Lunchtimes were never quite the same without her, and she certainly knew how to enjoy a good office night out! She brought a lovely energy wherever she went, and her friendship was something I came to treasure.

When Dottie retired, thankfully that wasn’t the end of our friendship. We continued to meet regularly, and our little lunch club grew into something very special. It was through those lunches that I shared many happy times with Dottie, Debbie and Maggie — lots of laughter, stories, good food and, of course, the occasional glass or two!

Dottie was a truly lovely person and a dear friend. I feel very lucky to have known her and to have shared so many happy memories together.

I shall miss you more than words can say, Dottie. You will always have a special place in my heart, and whenever we raise a glass, you can be sure I’ll be raising one (or two!) to you.

Rest peacefully, dear friend. You will never be forgotten. ❤️
