You were so talented confident and brave I owe you so much teaching me “you should get fit “

Like Rod we spend many weeks out of the country on our travels so we have only just had the shock and sad news of his passing. Rod was a good friend and 'the best' hairdresser who we have known for 45 years, from Long John's to Upchurch.
Our sincere condolences to Rod's family and loved ones. RIP Rod a wonderful person and will always be fondly remembered by those who knew him.

I have only just found out about Rodney today and now typing through the tears. Rodney epitomised someone who lived life to the full. Having been out of circulation myself for a few weeks from a bike accident, I have been wondering where my updates from a sunny boat were or where the Strava kudos was for the rides of my sons, George and Tom, who he knew from babies. He was a lovely man and the biggest flirt from the day I first sat in his chair at Long John's hairdressers in 1985. Mum became one of his 'special' clients whose hair he would cut either at hers or his lovely home, between time-trials and Mediterranean boat trips! I have fun memories of accompanying him to various athletics tracks where he competed for his own glory and as a guide for the late paralympian runner, Bob Matthews.
He was a fabulous person to have known and loved and his occasional updates will be missed.

Still can’t believe it. The most generous man there was, would do anything to help you out, whilst also getting everyone to do stuff for him. Will be sadly missed.

So sorry for your loss, it is an absolute tragedy. Rod will be missed by everyone that his life touched, but to lose your Dad at such a young age is horrific. Rodders, miss you mate.

My good friend and hairdresser for 30+years, remembering your disco championship days to your recent hobbies, cycling, property development and growing hosta’s. Such a good kind, friend always there to help with my boys when they were young and cutting their hair too!
You were so proud of your children and always spoke proudly of them whilst cutting my hair. It does not you have passed, you will be sadly missed RIP Rod xx ❤️
