Paula Wood (11 May 1957 - 22 Aug 2026)

Taken too soon. Remembered with love. Our thoughts are with you all at this sad time.

I first met Paula many years ago when I started at St Anne's, early in my career. She was one of the people who helped shape the person I am today and the manager I have become. We continued to keep that connection and she has remained one of the kindest, most genuine people I have known.

Paula was down to earth, a plain talker, caring and always willing to help. She was a doer and had an incredible belief in people and their potential. She has made a difference to countless lives through her kindness and compassion. Paula was a truly beautiful lady with a huge heart, and I feel privileged to have known her.

Becky, through life's coincidences we have come to know each other through other connections, so I hope you already know how much your mum meant to so many people. You, and your family are in my and my family's thoughts.

I had the complete pleasure of knowing Paula for 20 years. She oozed warmth and kindness and humility. Her careful stewardship of St Annes and S2R made a profound difference to the lives of so many people across Kirklees. Paula was a first class person in every respect and she will be sorely missed. She just made things better.

Paula was one of a kind, generous with her concern for others and her kindness towards all. She had a genuine love of people and a belief in the goodness and strength in all of us. She was warm, funny positive and a breath of fresh air. I first met her when I interviewed for a post at St Anne’s and was stuck by her energy and positivity and her ability to connect with people. She was a natural. It was my privilege to work with her over several years and to watch her grow and develop into an inspiring manager.She had so many friends and I am glad that I have had the pleasure of being one of them Rest in peace Paula and my heartfelt condolences to all of your family at this sad time
