8:37am — The Moment Time Changed At 8:37am on the 8th of August, the world kept turning on, but mine stood still forever, the moment my beautiful mum was gone. Twenty-two days have passed since then, twelve hours and more besides, but somehow it feels like yesterday I held you, said goodbye and cried. 540 hours and 36 minutes since I last had you here, yet every single second I still wish that you were near. They say that time will help me, that the pain will slowly fade, but how can time erase a lifetime of memories that we made? You were my mum, my safe place, my sunshine through the rain, and although I know you’re peaceful now, I’d give anything to hear your voice again. You fought until the very end, with strength I’ll never know, and even when your body tired, your beautiful smile still showed. They called you a pink ray of sunshine, and Mum, that’s what you’ll always be — a little piece of pink in every day, a light that still shines over me. So when the clock reaches 8:37, I’ll remember that day with tears, but I’ll also remember every moment I was lucky enough to have you for all those years. And Mum, if heaven has a window, I hope you look down and see that your daughter is still loving you, just as you will always live in me. Twenty-two days without you, Mum. Twenty-two days of learning how to breathe. But I’ll carry you for all my life, because losing you could never mean losing the love you left in me. Until we meet again, Mum, I’ll find you in the morning light, in butterflies, in pink sunsets, and in the stars that shine at night. 8:37am changed my world forever. But it didn’t end our story. Because you are still my mum, and I am still your daughter — and love like ours doesn’t die. 💗

My Beautiful Aunty who always had a smile on her face, loved to laugh, was always happy despite whatever life threw at her. Whenever we would visit "all things bright & beautiful" would be my song to you. You truly were one of a kind. Sleep Tight 💗❤️🪽
