Paul Hopkins sadly passed away peacefully on Friday 14th August 2026, aged 73.
Paul was a much-loved dad, family member and friend, and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
Hairdressing was a huge part of Paul’s life and something he genuinely loved. Over the years he met and got to know so many people through his work, many of whom became much more than simply clients. Outside of work, Paul loved going out for a meal, spending time with friends and enjoying the company of the people around him.
He will be remembered with great love and affection, and leaves behind many happy memories for his family and friends to treasure.
Paul’s funeral will take place on Wednesday 9th September 2026 at 11:00am, in the West Chapel at Southend Crematorium.
Rather than flowers, we would be very grateful for donations in Paul’s memory.
Rest peacefully, Dad. You will be loved and missed more than words can say.

I hadn’t expected to say goodbye to you so soon, Paul - it truly teaches you the value of life when, suddenly, someone whom you regard as a “constant” in your life is gone. Whoever I didn’t see, you were the one person whom I saw without fail every 2 - 3 weeks 🤣
I always enjoyed our chats when I was getting my hair cut, on subjects too numerous to mention (the haircut was always pretty good, too 🤣🤣).
Rest easy, Paul, you have lived a good life and you leave only good memories in your wake - you will be sadly missed by so many people …

Paul, you were like an Uncle to me. You always cared and seeing you on my Essex trips with Dad was an absolute pleasure - especially when we’d get to spend some extra time with you. Watching you and the ol’ man catch up was always an absolute joy to me.
And guess what, mucker - you wouldn’t have known this, but I made a list up some time ago of all the people I wanted to see after my recovery. I’m physically a lot better than I was but still never quite got to see anyone, yet. You were at the top of that list. I’m sad I’ll never get to fulfil that wish.
