Charles Ford (Passed away 4 Aug 2026)

My condolences to Sheila, Chris, Julia, Robbie, Rachel, Catherine, Esther and all the younger family members on the loss of Charlie at an amazing 96! After a lifetime full of incredible achievements I know that all of you will be at the very top of his list.
From the very late 60s / early 70s good friendships were formed between our 2 families and although my sisters and I all moved away and our parents passed some years ago I am so grateful that we have had the opportunity to come and say goodbye to Charlie - and relive some memories with you.

Ann and I have known Charlie and Sheila for nearly 50 years, as good friends and neighbours. We have spent many happy hours sharing social occasions with them both. Their kindness, friendliness and generosity is something we treasure.

We have known the Ford family since before we moved in to our house in Shaftesbury Ave. over 40 years ago. Charlie and Sheila were excellent neighbours and became firm friends. We have many happy memories of our times together, from, for example, the day we moved in to Shaftesbury Ave. and we had blown several mains-fuses in error, Charlie promptly arrived with some fuse wire. We also enjoyed the many parties they had in their garden for family and friends.
More recently when we visited Charlie and Sheila in the Manor care home, Charlie always had something new and interesting to talk about usually derived from his life, wide and varied travels, and family. He was very proud of his family and often showed us a photograph he treasured of the whole family (children and their partners, grandchildren and great grandchildren). He told us in detail of their progress and achievements. He was always positive and pleased to see us, as we were happy to spend time with him. He will certainly be missed. Love Angela and John

Deepest condolences to Sheila and the Ford Family on the passing of Charlie. I have fond memories of him from my childhood, playing cricket with his youngest (also very sadly passed) son Michael ... watching out we did not smash a cricket ball through one of his carefully planted flower beds. We used to always see him - for sure - on Christmas Eve at my parent's house. Michael, Sheila, and Charlie were very important people in my early life and I want to send again my deepest condolences to Sheila, Esther, Catherine, Robert and the rest of "the Fords".
