The Life of Debbie Tripp

Debbie Tripp, known to many as DJ Deb and Mumma D, was a woman who brought energy, laughter and love wherever she went. She was a much-loved daughter, sister, mum, nan and friend, and her life was filled with people and memories that meant so much to her.

Debbie grew up in London and attended Cowley School in Brixton, where she formed friendships that would stay special to her. One of her best friends from those days was Jennifer, a friendship that became part of the memories she carried with her throughout her life.

She later attended Stockwell Manor School, where she made more lifelong friendships. She was especially close to Jennifer, Sarah and Maryann Waller, as well as Sarah’s cousin Sally, who was also a dear friend. These friendships were a huge part of Debbie’s younger years and are a reminder of how naturally she connected with people.

From a young age, Debbie was never afraid of hard work or new experiences. When she was just 14 years old, she began working on boats in the thames as a waitress, showing her independence, confidence and strong work ethic even as a teenager, she made some wonderful friends, sharon, sue and helen.

Debbie loved making memories, especially with her mum, dad and siblings. She spent so many years going camping around the UK, visiting different seaside towns and enjoying little adventures together. Those trips were full of laughter, family time and memories that she carried with her throughout her life

In her 20s, Debbie continued working in busy and lively environments, taking on roles at football stadiums, where she thrived around people and atmosphere. She loved being part of places filled with energy, movement and life..

Debbie certainly knew how to make memories. In the 1990s, she even appeared on Top of the Pops with her friends - a special and unforgettable moment that captured her fun\-loving personality and her love of music.

As her love for music grew, Debbie followed her passion and became a DJ, known as DJ Deb, performing all around London.
She brought music, joy and her unmistakable personality wherever she went, and she had a natural gift for making people feel good and bringing a crowd together.

Debbie’s life was made up of music, friendship, family, laughter and countless memories. From her school days in Brixton and Stockwell, to working hard from a young age, to being on Top of the Pops, to becoming DJ Deb and travelling all around London sharing her music, she lived a life that touched many people.

But perhaps her most treasured role was being a mum and a nan. To her grandchildren, she was so much more than a nan — she was someone they could laugh with, make memories with and turn to. Her love extended far beyond her immediate family, and there were so many people who considered Debbie family in their own way.

I couldn’t talk about Nan without mentioning her two boys, George and Kane.

They weren’t just dogs to Nan, they were her babies and a huge part of her life. She loved them both so deeply, but George had a particularly special place in her heart.

George had been by Nan’s side for over 10 years. He moved house with her, grew older with her, and through everything, he never left her side. He was her little shadow and her companion through so many years of her life.

Kane was just as loved and brought Nan so much happiness. Together, they were her boys, her comfort and her family.

George and Kane will always be a part of Nan’s story, just as she will always be a part of theirs.

Although she is no longer here, the memories she created will continue to live on in everyone who loved her. Every story, every photograph, every song and every laugh will carry a little piece of Mumma D with it.

Debbie may have left this world, but she will never leave the hearts of the people who loved her.

Her music may have stopped, but her song will live on through all of us.
