Alastair McKinnon (29 May 1941 - 3 Aug 2026)

In loving memory of Alastair McKinnon who sadly passed away on 3rd August 2026, aged 85 years.

Very sadly, but with my brother Stuart at his side, our lovely dad, Alastair slipped away, peacefully and painlessly just after 6pm on Monday August 3rd. His prostate cancer had spread, initially to bone then, more recently had spread further into his bones and to his liver and lung.

The Marie Curie Hospice team were incredible throughout dad's final weeks with them and he charmed them right up to the (slightly unexpected) end.

While Dad’s passing is incredibly sad, the whole family are comforted that he lived a full and very happy life.

During his final weeks at the Hospice, Dad got to spend time with most of the family and many of his closest friends. He was ready.

He is now at peace and reunited with the love of his life, our Mum Elizabeth McKinnon.
