In loving memory of Barbara Gilbert who sadly passed away on 4th August 2026.
Barbara loved being a twin and was heart broken when her beautiful sister passed away in May. From the stories she has told me, they were quite mischievous as children! She was very proud of her job working as first cashier in Lloyds bank Charing Cross branch before she left to have children. Barbara married Alan in 1963, they met at Ilford Palais and Alan used to tell a story saying one of the first things she said to him was “do you want to meet my sister?” !!!! Barbara had two children, Richard and Mary. Richard sadly died in 1992 and we ask for any donations to be made to Mencap through this page, a charity which was very close to Barbara’s heart. After Alan died in 2021, Barbara continued to remain positive and we had so many fun filled times with her and I will always be incredibly grateful for that. I would like to thank all the wonderful carers from Anglian Care who loved and cared for mum, she loved their visits and enjoyed getting to know them.
