To my little brother Michael
I remember our trip to Whitstable, the sky was blue and the water was sparkling! You looked dapper with your walking stick. Paul, Jennie and I walking alongside you. We were very happy, talking and laughing together. A walk, a talk, a lunch and a sparkling water, under the English sun. Like the sea, your eyes sparked too! I saw how brave you truly were on that day.
My thoughts are so sad at losing you. You have the courage of a lion, and you went as far as you could possibly go, with a smile. You said, “I will keep on fighting Janet”. That took courage. You laughed your funny laugh, your face beaming like the sun. I know Whitstable was a place you treasured and so that day was very special. Spending time with my brothers was very special.
I will never forget that beautiful day. If I could put a day in a box, I would put that day with you in Whitstable in there.
I look back now and think of my dear brother Michael. I do believe you lived a life that was happy, although sadness was also a part of your life. You were a very brave, brave soldier, from childhood to now. I will cherish my time with you always. Today I think of you, Mum, Frankie and Joy with so much love and some sadness, that you are not all here with me, your big sister.
I am so grateful and lucky that I was able to see you via video before you passed. You were having a cup of tea, and I said “Hello” and you said “Hello, you’re an Angel”, I said “you’re the Angel”, you replied “no, you are”. I said I loved you and we would talk soon.
Thank you for your strength, your courage and your determination to get the answers. You are wise and you will always be with me Michael. I roar as well!
Your loving Angel Janet xxx
