I was deeply shocked and saddened to hear of Jon's sudden passing. My thoughts are first and foremost with his family and the unimaginable suffering they will be going through.

I have great memories of my time with Jon at school and then at university where we were on the same course. I'm particularly fond of the boozy Sunday nights in the summer of 2001 when we lived together in London for our internships. You made a tough few months so much easier to get through.

You were a top lad, a loyal friend and a devoted family man. You'll be greatly missed.

Rest in peace buddy.

It is hard to find the right words at a time like this. I knew Jon for a number of years when he worked at State Street and he was a great colleague who will be fondly remembered by all those who had the privilege of working with him.

My thoughts are with his family, friends and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

I was shocked to hear of Jon's passing and my thoughts are with Laura and his children.

I had the pleasure of working with Jon during his time at State Street when he moved across to the investment management arm. We had a common love of cycling and all things petrol powered, meaning we chatted a lot about the events he trained and competed in, as well as all things cars and motorbikes.

As many here have spoken to, Jon was incredibly personable and got to know everyone in the business. He cared deeply about making things better for people and whilst sometimes a request would be met with an initial sprinkle of grumpiness, I would always come back to find him focused on the best way to achieve what had been asked so the maximum number of people benefited.

Jon always spoke with pride about being a father, husband and northerner and he will be deeply missed. Sending my condolences to Jon's family and friends.

Sending best wishes to Jon's family and friends. It was great working with and getting to know Jon since he became my boss earlier this year. He was always ready to have a conversation, learn more and be curious and was keen to support and uplift the people he worked with. Will remember not only his professionalism but his sense of humour and enthusiasm for life and how he was always talking about the quality time he enjoyed spending with his family doing various activities together. Very sad to see him go so young and so suddenly.

My heart goes out to all who loved Jon. Such a lovely warm man. I had the privilege of working alongside him at Aviva and in a few short months he became part of the team, an excellent colleague and you could tell how much his family meant to him. Such a sad loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

For the short time Jon was working with us, he was professional, thoughtful, friendly and diligent and I was enjoying getting to know him. 46 is far too young and I send my condolences to his wife and children

Absolutely devastated, heart broken to hear the news about Jonathan.

Jonathan and I were very close friends growing up, and so many of my childhood memories have him in them. Like so often happens in life, as we got older our paths took us in different directions and we lost touch, but I’ll always remember those years and the laughs, adventures and memories we shared.

It has been lovely, although incredibly sad, to read the messages from people who knew Jonathan later in his life and to see the man he became. It doesn’t surprise me at all to read how highly people thought of him and, most importantly, how much he loved and spoke about Laura and his girls.

46 is simply no age, and it’s incredibly difficult to comprehend that someone who was such a big part of my younger years is no longer here.

My thoughts are very much with Laura, the girls and all of Jonathan’s family at what must be an unimaginably difficult time.

Rest easy mate. I’ll always be grateful for the memories we made growing up. ❤️
