Adele was such a wonderful friend it’s hard to believe she’s no longer here. We met back in 1999 when we both started at Tyne Tees - we bonded over our love of football and rubbish telly (Prisoner Cell Block H)
Adele spent many an hour editing with John - they shared the same dry sense of humour. I’ll always remember Adele appearing in the newsroom with a huge pile of tapes and a big smile ready for her edit.
She became a close friend of our family and came to our wedding - we often joked about the drama of the day when I ended up in hospital straight after the ceremony. Although it was a while since we’d last seen each other we were in touch often and she was always in contact at big moments in my children's lives and always told me how proud of them she was. She was funny and witty but so honest and warm and one of the most genuine people I’ve had the privilege to be friends with. We will miss her always. Claire & John xx

One of the very good ones has left us. It's never easy to hear of someone you know passing, but this one felt like a punch in the gut. We loosely stayed in contact after university in 1999, and I was only in contact with Adele a few months back. My abiding memory of her is that smile when she was invariably giving me some stick, and her excellent Northerness. She will be missed. R.I.P. my old chum.

I remember us arm in arm belting out 'Hey Jude' after graduation, and I remember the old gang having another curry at The Balti King after the reunion, and how nice it was to catch up with you. I'm so sorry you're gone, and for your family's loss.
