Michael was a great friend to us. We both knew him as kids - he was at Chiswick Grammar School with Graham and was a family friend of Mary's. When we were on holidays in England (from Australia) we always stayed in Brentford with his mother Dororthy and had trips out and meals with her, Michael.and Fiona. We remember Michael giving a speech at Dorothy's wonderful 90th birthday party. When he moved to Watchet we loved to visit him every time we were in the UK. He let us use his "Station House" whether he was there or not. We enjoyed being in Watchet very much: the cafes and bars along the front, the harbour, watching the great tide roar in and out and especially the steam trains. An enchanted place! RIP Michael.

Such a lovely man. We will miss him. Just an absolute darling. Kind, thoughtful, funny, clever, amusing, generous and an all round endearing man.
Brave and stoical to the end. Loved wine, coffee, double cream, whiskey, cake, anchovies, oysters and lashings of butter. We adored him.
He was a wonderful storyteller and had many a tale to tell. He once was joined by Julia Robert’s for coffee!
We loved a trip on the steam train, going to the theatre and listening to the bands in Pebbles. He loved to sing and joined the local choir. An icecream on the Esplanade was another favourite treat (He always went for a double clotted cream). We often joined him for Sunday morning breakfast in East quay which always included a Bloody Mary! He enjoyed a game of rugby and watching Formula 1. He was fun to be with, a real friend, compassionate, caring and a lovely, lovely man.

Mick (as my family know him) was such a lovely man. I’ll miss chatting with him about politics and life in general at family get-togethers. Thanks for putting up with me during my teenage years, and taking us all to Centre Parcs and to see the Gladiators. 😁 Much love from all my family and rest in peace.

A great loss to Watchet and a good friend. He was the most enthusiastic member of the Watchet Consort and will be sadly missed.
