I can only agree with all of the comments made by Ken’s other colleagues here.
He was, in my experience, a quiet, considerate and positive man.
I always found his traditional Local Government Officer attitude refreshing; prioritising quality service delivery to the public even when the Council’s own focus had become perhaps too introspective.
A sad loss. My condolences to Sarah and Menna.

A truly wonderful man - working with him I always experienced a genuine welcoming smile as I entered his office. Ken was an exceptional communicator - quietly spoken, calm and wise with his words whilst he carefully listened as others spoke. It was always productive to meet with Ken and business meetings were also a real pleasure to participate in. I really liked Ken, a modest man and just a really nice guy. So sorry to hear the sad news and thoughts are very much with Menna and Sarah.

I was fortunate to work for Ken in Benefits at Dudley Council for around 15 years. He was a genuinely fair, supportive and encouraging manager who always believed in helping people develop. He gave me the confidence to progress and better myself, and I truly believe I wouldn't have enjoyed such a fulfilling career without his guidance and belief in me. I'll always be grateful for the opportunities he gave me. Rest in peace, Ken, and thank you.

Always fair, always kind.
I didn’t realise at the time what a forward thinking man he was, I was young and thought every work place valued women and treated everyone as equals. I later found out that was Ken’s values, how lucky were we all to be managed that way in the 1980’s.
I learnt so much from him. A true mentor. Rest easy Ken x
