In loving memory of Rosaline Patricia Meikle "Doris" who sadly passed away on 12th July 2026

Jenny Spraggs donated £20 in memory of Rosaline

Ros - A neighbour of 35 years you welcomed me, my children and my dog to Abbeyfields Close with a cheery smile and a chat or a friendly wave if I was passing while you were in the garden.
Fondest memories of you and your husband and my condolences to your family who have always taken the greatest care of you.
Regards Jenny Spraggs, Victoria and Melanie.

Doris and Gordon moved to a house a few doors down from us in Netley when I was around thirteen, just the age to babysit for Chris, John and Roger and Ali when she arrived. My mum and Doris already knew each other but they soon became best friends. A daily coffee to discuss the latest village gossip was a daily necessity
and I, an only child, was also a frequent visitor, relishing the warmth and happiness I found with the Meikle family: Doris was also a great cook and I was always more than happy to stay for tea! All of my memories of Doris are happy ones, she and Gordon were true friends, always ready to help out if necessary and we missed them terribly when they moved to Warsash. Doris had endless patience, was gentle, genuinely kind and fun. She had an infectious giggle and loved to laugh, so many happy times were spent with her. It was Doris who taught me how to put in zip, and even now, whenever I have to insert one, I think about her and how much I loved the precious times I spent with her.
Thank you Doris

I have so many fond memories of Auntie Doris; celebrations at The Galleon, Boxing Days, Bambi and other dogs, sun seeking, hugs, her good humour and wonderful laugh.
Much loved and sadly missed

I have so many wonderful memories of my Aunty Doris. She was one of the first people as a young 10 year old from the States to greet me from the US into the UK. We stopped at a Little Chef straight from the plane and I had my first English Pancakes. After Christmas that year we were invited to Boxing Day. Not an American tradition, I was intrigued and delighted to be the recipient of a Cindy Doll. Another first for me! From the land of Barbies. I always loved it when my parents said we were going over to Aunty Doris’ for tea. What is that? A delightful abundance of scones and yummy English food. Another first. Aunty Doris, you introduced me to so many lovely English traditions and firsts! I remember you at my home in Yorkshire when we got our two kittens. You always had a smile. Always elegant, always kind. I will miss you xx
