In loving memory of John Charles William Grieve who sadly passed away on 8th
Our lovely, cheeky Dad passed away peacefully in his sleep on 8th July.
He lived an incredible life, spending well over 50 years working in our family greengrocer’s shop. He was well known throughout Stoke Newington, where the shop had been an institution for many years. Whether it was a friendly chat, a helping hand, or simply making someone’s day a little brighter, Dad was always there for everyone.
His final years were devoted to his beloved partner, Shirley, whom he missed dearly after she passed away eight years ago. It brings us comfort to know they are finally reunited.
Dad, thank you for everything you gave us. We love you more than words can say, and we will miss you every single day.
Rest peacefully, Dad. You will always be in our hearts.

Well words can’t express how much I will miss you. I know I only met you a handful of times but I will miss your sense of humour like when you spoke to the dog in German because she’s a German shepherd. Also your supportiveness when it came to my career telling me keep at it as I’m good but then again that could’ve been sarcasm with you. But either way I will miss you a lot sleep tight John till we meet again mate

My Dad, my mate, you taught me how to work, how to behave, you taught me respect, honour, pride, manners, love, when to stand up, when to bide my time, you made me who I am, you made me strong taught me all of life's lessons and I learned well, you will be forever in my heart, my thoughts my life, for you made me a copy of you, work hard, be strong stand tall, you live on in me and I carry that honour until we meet again, you will never be gone because I carry your spirit and soul in me.
