In loving memory of Eric Hall who sadly passed away on 24th June 2026.

Family and friends are warmly invited to attend Eric's funeral service at Mansfield Crematorium, followed by an informal gathering at the Rushley Public House on Nottingham Road, to celebrate Eric's life. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu of flowers, if desired, will be gratefully received in aid of the Alzheimer's Society.

Eric was born in 1944 in Warsop Vale and spent his childhood growing up in Spion Kop in Warsop. Raised alongside his eleven siblings by his parents, Rex and Elizabeth, on the family's smallholding, he learned from an early age the values of hard work, resilience, and the importance of family. Those values remained with him throughout his life and shaped the kind, dependable man he became.

In 1969, Eric married his life long partner, Cynthia. Together they built a happy and loving home, sharing 38 years of marriage until Cynthia's passing in 2007, Their greatest joy was their family, and Eric was a devoted father to Martin, Cheryl, and David.

For most of his working life, Eric was a lorry driver for Mansfield District Council, where he was respected for his reliability, dedication, and strong work ethic.

Away from work, Eric enjoyed making the most of life. He loved travelling and discovering new places, often capturing special moments through his love of photography. He found great pleasure in tending his garden, and enjoyed walking in the countryside whenever he was able. Eric was also a keen bowler and was a member of Queensway Bowling Club, where he enjoyed the sport and also the friendships it brought. Always willing to try something new, he spent time fishing and developed a love of painting with water colours. In quieter moments, he could often be found watching his favourite old Westerns and classic wartime films.

Eric was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren and a much-loved great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren. Nothing gave him greater happiness than seeing his family grow and spending time with those he loved most.

Eric will be remembered for his quiet strength, gentle nature, unwavering dedication to his family, and the values of honesty, kindness, and hard work that guided him throughout his life. He leaves behind a family who loved him deeply and friends who will remember him with great affection.

Though he is no longer with us, Eric's legacy lives on through the family he cherished, the values he instilled, and the many happy memories he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
