Ivor George Leonard Tomlinson (2 Mar 1939 - 18 Jun 2026)

He was the first man to show me boobies! I’ll never forget him calling me over with, “Ren, look at these!” It still makes me laugh now. I’ll miss our every other Sunday meals together with my boys and all the stories, laughs and one liners that came with them.

I’ll also never forget the day you got stuck on the kids’ Rock and Roller Rider at Paultons Park. You walked around the park afterwards like absolutely nothing had happened. Then, as soon as you saw Mum and Rachel, you suddenly told them you’d been badly injured and couldn’t move just to throw me under the bus! Typical Grandad, always winding me up.

And then there was the day you moved house. I spent the whole day helping you, only for you to get short with Rachel. She gave it straight back, and without missing a beat you pointed at me and said, “It’s Ren’s fault, he’s being a prick!” Once again, I was the one getting the blame.

Those are the memories I’ll treasure forever. Your quick wit, your sense of humour, and the way you could make everyone laugh. Thank you for everything you did for us, Grandad. We’ll miss you more than words can ever say, but we’ll keep telling your stories and laughing at your jokes for years to come.

I can’t wait to wear your watch for the rest of my life. I’ll think of you every time I look at it.
