In loving memory of Paul Christopher Newnham who sadly passed away on 17th June 2026.

He was a devoted husband, a much-loved son and brother, a proud dad and father-in-law, a cherished grandad, and a loyal friend to so many. His kindness, warmth, and sense of humour meant he was loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

He found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether he was out fishing, polishing his Harley Davidson, spending time with family and friends, or enjoying a pint with good company, he made every moment count. A lifelong Manchester United supporter, he followed his team with passion and never missed the chance to cheer them on.

Above all, he will be remembered for the love he gave, the laughter he shared, and the countless memories he created with those around him. His presence brought comfort, happiness, and friendship to so many lives, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Flowers will be from the immediate family only. If you wish to make a donation in memory of Paul, the family would be deeply grateful for contributions to Southend Hospital Charitable Foundation – Cardiac & Daycare Unit, in recognition of the wonderful care and kindness shown.

Finally, in honour of his love for Manchester United, we invite everyone attending the service to wear black with a touch of red in his memory. A small tribute to a man who will be forever loved and forever red. ❤️

Paul,

In reading so many of these words here, I’m smiling, knowing how much you impacted so many lives in the community. With memories of you cheering from the touch line on Sunday mornings, enjoying a pint with you at the bar and often watching you enjoying yourself with friends, colleagues & family whilst DJing behind the bar. The fond memories of you that everyone speaks of and shares here is a real testament to you, your character and how well loved you were all round.

You welcomed people into your home indiscriminately, supported others through tougher times, provided work, gave generosly, offered advice when you felt it was warranted and always when it was asked for.

To many adopted children in your own children’s friendship circles, you’ve been an incredible role model & wanted nothing in return but their success and happiness.

Your legacy lives on in your children and grandchildren & in the memories we’ll all hold so dearly.

A celebration of your life tomorrow will be a fitting tribute and I’m sure your family and friends will give you a send-off you deserve. I’m sorry I won’t be able to make it, however I’ll be thinking of you all.

With love and fondness,

Will x

Big P, to not have you around is completely unfathomable.

You were the most generous and kindest man I’ve ever met , and reading all the messages, it’s clear that these traits were visible to all. You are the definition of a family man and what it is to be a good friend, and I really don’t think you were aware of how many of us hadleigh lot that your were a second dad to. Always available to lend your advice and always there to keep us level headed, like how forthcoming you were when you thought me and Dean had a shit game ha. There’s so many things I will remember about you P, so many honourable qualities and we will miss you greatly. It hurts that I cannot be there tomorrow and I’m sorry for that, but please know I will be thinking about you and I will be thinking of your family tomorrow, which is a day to celebrate the man you are. Thank you for everything mate , you will be sorely missed but never, ever forgotten.

Sending love from Josh, Elisha, Elsie and Remi xxx

We feel very fortunate that our families were joined by Lauren & Dean’s marriage. Not only did our daughter get the best husband but also another loving family to call her own. Paul was everything we could have wished for in a Father-in-Law for our daughter and literally treated her as one of his own. We feel blessed to have had him in our life and he was always the life and soul of any gatherings we had as a family. He will always hold a special place in our hearts and memories. God bless you Paul one of life’s good guys xx

P, it’s been so hard to find the words and it still doesn’t feel real, you are so very very missed but I’m so grateful to have had you in our lives. You welcomed me with open arms from day one, from the chats to always making sure I had a drink in my hand and if I didn’t you was opening that new bottle and I wasn’t leaving the shed without it. So many wonderful memories to cherish, holidays, birthdays, you were the king of the kitchen dancing “one more time”. One of the most generous, funny and loving people ever and that just shows in the outpouring of love and the hole that is left in everyone’s hearts. Mila is still asking for her choc buttons from your fridge and we will tell her P is that bright star watching you behave. Will miss the big squeezey hugs. Thank you for being such a big part of Gal, mine and Milas lives, love you and miss you, RIP P xxx
