Dad, where do i begin, i am heartbroken that you had to leave us. Watching you fight so hard until the very end was difficult to see but i got great comfort from our chats and the time we had. You fought so hard, faced one struggle after another until the very end. Louise and i knew you were getting tired and we take
great comfort that you are no longer suffering and are reunited with Nan.Popa Norman and your brother Norman

Jacob,Bailey and Emilia miss you but will continue to persue their dreams and make you proud.

John, you were such a lovely man, we will all miss you dearly. You were such a generous and warm hearted spirit, always sharing your stories of past adventures! You loved the important things in life, above all your friends and your family. I can't believe you won't be at our table for the celebrations you loved so much. We'll raise a glass for you on chip night and make sure to heat the plates! Enjoy your well earned rest John, you will live on in our thoughts. All our love, Lee, Lou, Joe, Eve and Otto

John, we shared many happy moments over the years. I loved hearing stories about your time in the forces (especially the one about the dog in Singapore!) and the wonderful life you lived. You’ll be greatly missed and there’ll always be a John shaped hole at the Sunday dinner table. Rest in peace x

There really aren’t enough words to say how much you meant to us. You were such an amazing man. So thoughtful, so kind, and such a family orientated man. We were so lucky to have had you in our lives.

Our hearts are broken knowing you’re no longer with us, but we take comfort in the wonderful memories we shared with you.

A great friend who will be sadly missed

John was a lovely gentleman who always made my job so much more enjoyable,I loved his stories off his time overseas and always made me laugh and smile you will be missed

In memory of John Durrington 🪽

Hey John, I wasn’t expecting to have to write this for many years and I don’t think I have accepted that you have really gone already, just that maybe you are away on one of the many holidays you enjoyed so much.

But if I do have to write this now, I would say that I am incredibly grateful to you for the love that you gave to my mum for the past 12 years and for the way you treated me as your family. You fixed my leaks, lent me tools, gave me furniture and even took down my garage, any problem I had you tried your hardest to solve. I will always remember the kindness, support and generosity that you have given to me.

I know I am going to miss you in many ways but the hardest by far will be getting used to that empty seat around the table at the ‘Sunday Roast’.

Grandad, I can’t believe you are not here with us any more. You were the most loving, caring and nicest person I know. I will always remember everything we did together and all the morals you have taught me throughout of my life. Thank you for lighting up my life and I hope we lit up your life with your first great grandchild. Me and my wife are deeply saddened by your passing but I know you’re up there looking down on us.
