I’ve known Beryl forever. From infant school onwards, she was my best friends mum, then as the years passed, we had numerous trips to the theatre, cinema and concerts together and when we started having trips away, she wasn’t just Carol and Anna’s mum, she was one of the gang, one of the magnificent 7. I have very fond memories of Beryl, and forgive me, but I’m going to share 2 of my favourites, firstly, Carol, Beryl myself and my daughter went on a coach trip to the Xmas market in Bruges, Beryl and Kylie were both tipsy before we reached Dover at 8am , giggling and behaving like naughty schoolgirls, Beryl had thought it a good idea to bring a hip flask and they’d drank it dry!!! Also on that trip we got completely lost and couldn’t find the coach park and I remember running in the pouring rain across a park with all our shopping and a case of Belgian beer, as I recall , Beryl was pretty speedy!!! The other, Beryl was living in Scotland, Carol and I went for the weekend, I’d never been before and Beryl was an amazing hostess, took us all over, and even spent a morning looking for a field of hairy cows because I wanted to see one.Beryl, legend, rest in peace, gone from our sight, but never to be forgotten

Beryl, I will never forget your kindness, especially when I was ill. Your thoughtfulness touched my heart. Highly intelligent and fun, you were brilliant with children. The twins loved you and the way you were able to connect with them. How lucky was anyone who was taught by you! You were a big part of ‘The 7’ and it was an absolute privilege to have known you since I was in infant school and to have accompanied you (and the group) on some wonderful travels. You will not be forgotten. May your spirit now shine just as brightly with the stars 🌟

Beryl passed away peacefully in her 90th year at The Denby Care Home, Denby Dale, following a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Throughout her illness, she retained her warm smile and positive spirit to the very end.

Born in Birmingham in 1936 to Victor and Hilda Wallace, Beryl lived a full, rich and interesting life. She had a genuine zest for life and a generous heart, always ready to help others and make the most of every opportunity.

Beryl was the dearly loved wife of Owen (Eugene) and a wonderful mother to Moira, Eoghan, Carol and Anna.

Affectionately known as "GB" (Grandma Beryl), she was much loved by her grandchildren, Tessa, Holly, Shona, Cameron, Finola and Max, and was a very special "GGB" (Great-Grandma Beryl) to Hope, Rory and Maeve.

Her kindness, warmth, sense of fun and love for her family will be remembered by all who knew her.

Dress code: Please wear bright colours to celebrate Beryl's life and reflect the joy, optimism and warmth with which she embraced the world.
